For the Adventure Seekers looking for the next challenge, this one is for you. Trek to the roof of Indochina to witness the rugged beauty of Mount Fansipan. At 3143m tall,  Mount Fansipan is the tallest mountain in Vietnam. It is located 9km south-west of Sapa Townlet in the Hoang Lien Mountain Range. Fansipan, a rough pronunciation of the local name “Hua Xi Pan” means “the tottery giant rock”.

Itinerary Overview

 

HANOI – LAO CAI

Take the 940pm Orient Express overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai.

Sleep: Train (Sleeping Berth)

LAO CAI - SAPA - BASE CAMP

Arrive early morning at LAO CAI. Continue drive to SAPA.

After breakfast, commence the Fansipan Trekking, Light lunch at about 1300m. Continue through the bamboo forest until arrival at base camp located at 1650m.

Sleep: Tent / Food: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

SUMMIT - BASE CAMP

Continue trekking, aim to arrive at the Summit (3143m) for a late picnic lunch.

Descend to base camp, arriving before last light.

Sleep: Tent / Food: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

BASE CAMP - SAPA

Descend, re-cross the stream to continue the trek towards the end point.

Drive back to Sapa for a quick shower. Board the bus to Lao Cai, where you train depart in the evening, for the journey back to Hanoi.

Sleep: Tent / Food: Breakfast, Lunch

HANOI > SINGAPORE

Arrival at the railway station and transfer to the airport for the flight home.
