HUGE congratulations to our 17 Amazing Trekkers who summited Mount Rinjani at 3,726m, the second highest mountain in Indonesia. Lead by ATC Trek Leaders Anja Poehlmann and Julia He, the team overcame the physical and mental challenges to reach the summit and to complete the 4 day, 3 night trek.
The friendly, positive and encouraging team spirit, along with an amazing local crew, gave each member of the team the energy to make it up the long, 60 degree angled slope, of sand and gravel to the summit. The views and landscape during the entire trek were simply breathtaking.
A soak in the Hot Springs near the lake was a wonderful opportunity to wash, revive tired muscles and get new energy for the climb to the Senaru Crater Rim. Where they then took the opportunity to do some yoga and enjoy a camp fire to celebrate the last night on the mountain.
These amazing ladies even took time at Crater Lake to clean up some of the rubbish that other campers unfortunately had left behind.
New hiking friendships were formed, others reunited and new adventures are being planned already. But first... some time to rest and dazzle in the surreal experience that Rinjani is! Well done Ladies!
