What an exciting few months for ATC! There has been lots of sweat shed from sheer discipline, determination, dedication and focus by 28 of our members going on the Blue Mountains, Nepal, Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kinabalu treks. We have put in hours of training including Bootcamps, TRX & Spin classes at Altitude Gym, stairs training at Toa Payoh Central, long endurance walks at MacRitchie Reservoir & speed walking at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.
Two groups are heading off on treks; Blue Mountains (Sydney, Australia) on the 12th September and our Mind|Body|Soul Himalayan Adventure (Chisapani - Nagarkot - Changunarayan trek + daily yoga+Charity), Nepal on the 23rd September. We also have a group training rigorously for Mount Kilimanjaro, departing mid October and another set of ladies training for Mount Kinabalu departing at the end of October.
Well done to the ladies for their sacrifices, for reorganising your normal daily routines, challenging yourselves and getting out of your comfort zone to reach your personal summit!
Whilst you train for 2016 treks, we are already planning our standard & bespoke itineraries for 2017... Keep your eyes peeled for our exciting launches, talks, workshops, themed evenings, trainings and walks coming up in the next few months. We will be announcing the dates soon.

With Zumba, a workout isn't even a workout: it's a fun, social dance party – with exercise being the biggest perk! The music is fast, upbeat and contagious, so you can't help but keep moving. The theme this year is Halloween.
Our very own Nordic Walkers, Lynn Lim Choo and Jenny Loo have taken up the challenge of completing 10,000 steps a day, for the entire month of Steptember to raise vital funds for the Cerebral Palsy Singapore.
The average office worker only takes around 3,000 steps per day, so 10,000 steps a day is going to be quite the challenge. Hopefully they keep practicing Nordic Walking and they will reach those 10,000 steps a day easily!
Cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood. One in two people with cerebral palsy are in chronic pain due to the tightening of their muscles. Many will never be able to take a single step without assistance.

I signed up knowing well, how taxing a volcano summit push is. Climbing mountains is an addiction and I remain undeterred but always cautious trying to understand and study what it is going to take to climb it.
